Our Team

The people behind the projects – with many years of experience in ecology, landscape planning, and sustainable construction.

Project Manager & Ecologist

Mag. Stefan Huber

For over 15 years, Stefan has led renaturation projects in bog and wetland areas. His mapping and rewetting concepts have already transformed more than 200 hectares of former peat extraction areas back into valuable habitats.

Landscape Architect & Permaculture Designer

Prof. Günther Herzog B.Sc.

Günther combines scientific soil science with practical permaculture. He advises municipalities and private gardens on transitioning to closed nutrient cycles and has accompanied over 30 small-scale projects in Austria.

Civil Engineer for Ecological Construction

Melanie Posch B.Eng.

Melanie specializes in building materials made from clay, hemp, and regional wood. She has contributed to three passive house standard residential buildings and advises builders on recyclable alternatives to concrete and mineral wool.

Milestones of Nature Work

A chronology of our most important projects and achievements in the field of sustainable landscape development.

  1. March 2021

    Founding of the Association

First meeting of landscape planners and environmental activists in Styria. The goal was to network local initiatives for the renaturation of wetlands.

  2. September 2021

    Mapping of Bog Areas

Together with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, 14 hectares of former peat extraction area were surveyed and the water balance was established. The basis for all subsequent measures.

  3. April 2022

    First Rewetting

Installation of 23 weirs and ditch closures in the northern sub-area. After just three months, the groundwater level rose by an average of 40 centimeters.

  4. November 2022

    Establishment of Peat Mosses

Distribution of Sphagnum species over an area of 2.5 hectares. The mosses established themselves within one winter and began active carbon sequestration.

  5. July 2023

    Return of the Moor Frog

First confirmed evidence of the endangered amphibian species in the renatured area. An indicator of the restored ecological functionality of the bog.

  6. February 2024

    Award as Nature Conservation Project

The state of Styria honored our work with the environmental award for exemplary renaturation. The funding enables expansion to an additional 8 hectares.

Our Profile

Who We Are

We are a team of landscape planners, biologists, and designers dedicated to the renaturation and sustainable development of natural spaces. Our focus is on concrete projects that promote biodiversity and strengthen regional cycles.

Who We Work For

Municipalities, foundations, and private landowners who want to ecologically enhance their land. We accompany them from the initial survey to on-site implementation.

Clients from all over Austria

Our Approach

Every project begins with a precise analysis of the location: soil, water balance, existing species. Based on this, we develop tailored measures – from creating flower strips to rewetting moors.

Scientifically sound, practically proven

Communication and Tone

We speak clearly and factually, without exaggeration. Our goal is to make complex ecological relationships understandable and to encourage participation – not to lecture.

Transparent, respectful, solution-oriented

Why we act

Preserve natural spaces, strengthen cycles, shape the future

What you gain

A concrete project that sustainably enhances your landscape or garden – with less maintenance, more biodiversity, and a tangible contribution to climate protection right on your doorstep.
